An update to Cassies polo playing.
Cassie has been selected to play polo for Australia in December 2001(in her words,"not many women play polo in Australia")

Not many women play polo in AUST, still less play in a winning Australian team,(defeating England in the final)with one of Cassie's horses winning the champion horse of the tournament

The "gold cup" is the polo championship of the U.K.
Here is Cassie drinking "champers" and watching one of her horses play.

Kris Lynas
Kris Lynas began his polocrosse career at the age of 12 on a small pony that bucked a lot. Played juniors for Tasmania at the Launceston National Championships in 1990, the Australian Zone Championships in Bairnsdale, 1991 and in the Forbes National Chmapionships in 1992. Also played under-21's for Tasmania at the Werribee Nationals in Victoria, 1996.

Kris is the only member of the Northern Club to play in all 6 A-grade State Championship winning teams from 1993 to 1998.

Kris always plays number 1 because he cannot or will not pass the ball. A multiple best and fairest winner, culminating in the 1998 & 1999 A-grade best & fairests for the year for Tassie.

Kris now lives in Japan(not much polocrosse played there!)

The Ebbelaar family!
This story started, I believe, about 25 years ago, when Henny Ebbelaar started playing with the Longford polocrosse club.

Henny had at least one brother who played, for the Scottsdale club. Henny Ebbelaar and his wife, Gail had 3 childern, Luke, Louise and Andrew. At one time there could have been close to a polocrosse team of Ebbelaars playing. Henny played in many winning "A" grade teams and represented Tasmania. His wife, Gail, I think, did not play polocrosse but from years of time keeping and scoring, probably has as much knowledge of the game as anybody. As the years progressed, Luke, Louise and Andrew all played polocrosse for either the Longford, or the renamed Northern club. Louise now lives on the mainland I think, but we still have Luke and Andrew playing in Tasmania, both Luke & Andrew have represented Tasmania at Forbs & Werribee Nationals, Luke is the state chief umpire and President of the very progressive Northern polocrosse club.

Fact or fiction ? I will leave it to you to decide, but without families like this polocrosse would not be such a great sport
